Scars

There are many treatment options available for reducing the appearance of scars. Safe for all skin types, CryoShape is transforming the way we treat moderate to severe scarring. Cutis is privileged to be the first certified provider of CryoShape in Canada. Treatments

As a cosmetic surgery centre, Cutis is equipped in providing the highest level of care and safety to our patients. During a consultation with Cutis' Facial Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Ron Lemckert, ENT, a general health assessment will be made to ensure treatment suitability. The CryoShape treatment lasts between 10 to 60 minutes, depending on the size of the treatment area. Numbing anesthetic is utilized to reduce patient discomfort. Several keloid scars can be treated during a single appointment and most often only one treatment is required. Our highly trained professionals take every safeguard to ensure our patients are fully informed and prepared for both pre and post-treatment care.

Recovery

Mild to moderate discomfort, tenderness and itching are experienced post-treatment with rapid reduction over first few days. No sutures are applied so wound care is superficial (think sunburn). Effective pain management will be discussed and prescribed prior to treatment. Patients may return to daily activities immediately following treatment.

How It Works

Derived from cryotherapy methods, the use of lower temperatures in medical therapy, CryoShape freezes and destroys scars from the inside-out (think wart removal). Healthy tissue is generated during the healing process, replacing the dead scar tissue. Over 97% of patients report permanent scar removal.
