Subdermal Helium Plasma Resurfacing tightens the skin from the inside and is minimally invasive. What does this mean for you? Sagging skin can be lifted and tightened with minimal preparation, post-procedure downtime, cost, and discomfort. And no general anesthesia is required and no noticeable scars remain following your procedure.
During a consultation with Cutis' Facial Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Ron Lemckert, ENT, a general health assessment will be made to ensure treatment suitability. The treatment is performed under local or general anesthetic and last around one hour.
A compression bandage will be fitted and worn round-the-clock for the first two days. Following and for one to two weeks, the compression bandage will be worn at night only. A mild amount of swelling, bruising and redness are to be expected. Ice packs can be applied to maximize comfort. Effective comfort management will be reviewed and prescribed by Dr. Lemckert. Patients will require a few days away from most regular activities, including work.
How It Works
Subdermal Helium Plasma Resurfacing is part of a two-step process. Step 1 - A device called the Vaser separates the skin from underlying tissue. Through 5mm incisions, ultrasonic energy is delivered via a long slender cannula and gently separates the skin. Unlike conventional methods of separating using a blade, using ultrasonic energy reduces bleeding and tissue trauma. If fat removal is desired it is at this point that this procedure would be performed. If not, Dr. Lemckert would then perform step 2, which is the Subdermal Helium Plasma Resurfacing. Helium Plasma and Radio Frequency are delivered through the tiny incisions into the space created in step 1. The Helium Plasma and Radio frequency energy then begins to tighten and firm the skin. Results are immediate, but greater results are to come!
