Facelift

Early facelift procedures employed the method of facial skin stretching and trimming which in most cases created a severe and unflattering look. Modern facelifts (also known as rhytidectomy) integrate a variety of techniques resulting in more natural looking outcomes. Under the exceptional care of Cutis’ Facial Plastic Surgeon Dr. Ron Lemckert, ENT, our patients are treated to all the latest techniques and applications in facial rejuvenation. Schedule a consultation with Dr. Lemckert to learn more about your facial treatment options.

Treatments

As a cosmetic surgery centre, Cutis is equipped in providing the highest level of care and safety to our patients. During a consultation with Cutis' Facial Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Ron Lemckert, ENT, a general health assessment will be made to ensure treatment suitability. Facial features are examined and discussed to understand the desired outcomes. The treatment is performed under general anesthetic and can last between two to six hours. Our highly trained professionals take every safeguard to ensure our patients are fully informed and prepared for both pre and post-treatment care.

Recovery

It is recommended that each patient have someone available for assistance during the first 24 to 48 hours post-treatment. A certain amount of swelling, bruising and redness are to be expected. Ice packs can be applied to ease discomfort. Effective pain management will be discussed and prescribed prior to treatment but most people are surprised and the pain is less than they expect. A significant amount of post-treatment home care is expected (cleansing, re-dressing bandages, ointment application). The participation in regular activities, including work, should be suspended for two to three weeks.

How It Works

Face lift surgery is a complex approach to facial rejuvenation. The treatment involves the repositioning of multiple facial layers including fat, skin and sometimes muscle tissues. Incisions are made at the temple and around the ear to access the areas to be “lifted” and sometimes in other hidden locations dependent on the lift technique or areas to be addressed.
