Radio Frequency Ablation (RFA)
Using RFA for lumps and bumps, the Ellman Pellevé is capable of removing them without scarring.
-
Treatment sensation is likened to a heat sensation. Results can be noticeable after a single treatment.
-
A one-time treatment that takes approximately 30 minutes, and uses a local or topical anesthetic.
-
There is no recovery time required after a Pellevé treatment. Wound healing with take 1-2 weeks, and some mild redness, swelling or tenderness may be experienced for a few hours. Normal activities can be resumed immediately. Consistent use of sun protection is suggested to preserve and maintain the results of your Pellevé treatments.
Milia Removal
Milia are common, benign, keratin-filled cysts which appear as tiny, white, pearl-like formations under the skin’s surface. The cause is unknown but heavy moisturizers and makeup may contribute to their formation.
-
Treated by Radio Frequency Ablation, with the application of a topical anesthetic.
Discomfort is minimal.
-
There is no recovery period. Patients may experience mild redness and pin-point scabbing for up to two or three days. The use of medical grade skincare prescribed by a Cutis skin specialist may help prevent further development of milia.
Mole Removal
Moles and skin lesions are removed for a variety of reasons. Moles which lie flat and close to the skin’s surface may be treated with radio frequency ablation, while deeper lesions may require surgical excision. An initial professional assessment of the skin lesion will determine treatment method. Suspicious lesions will be assessed for cancerous concerns and processed accordingly. Common benign tumors can include seborrheic keratosis, moles, and birthmarks.
-
The removal of undesirable skin lesions is a quick and relatively painless procedure.
Treated by laser, radio frequency ablation or excision. Surgical excision is most commonly used to remove moles that are deep, while Ellman Pelleve (radio frequency ablation) is used in the removal of moles that are more superficial with a very low risk of scarring. Excision is a minor surgical procedure which removes the lesion and its surrounding area. It may or may not require stitches. Scarring can occur but it may be minimized with the correct technique.
-
Some redness, swelling and mild discomfort may be experienced, but a return to regular activities can be expected shortly following treatment. Healing will vary depending on the treatment area and method.
Skin Tag Removal
Skin tags (medically known as acrochordons) are an overgrowth of skin cells which hang off the skin’s surface. Skin tags are harmless and typically painless and are commonly found on areas of the body where friction occurs (most commonly the neck and armpit).
-
The removal of undesirable skin tags is a quick and relatively painless procedure with application of topical anaesthetic. Large skin tags may require injection with local anaesthetic.
Treated by Radio Frequency Ablation. Multiple skin tags can be treated during a single appointment.
-
Some redness, swelling, and mild discomfort may be experienced, but a return to regular activities can be expected immediately following treatment. Healing will vary depending on the treatment area and method.
Laser – Lesion Removal
Smooth and flawless skin is an ideal for many people. Achieving this goal may not be possible with professional skincare alone when persistent skin lesions are present. Examples include skin tags, moles, seborrheic keratoses, and solar keratoses.
-
Lesion removal is performed by Dr. Lemckert or Dr. Lewis, using Radio Frequency Ablation Therapy or CO2 Laser. RFA is a minimally invasive procedure that uses radiofrequency energy to heat and destroy abnormal tissue. An electrode delivers targeted treatment, offering pain relief with reduced recovery time compared to traditional surgery.
The lesion removal procedure may be temporarily uncomfortable and therefore, a suitable anesthetic will be employed to maximize your experience.

The healing process will vary depending on the depth of the lesion, but average 2 weeks. Superficial spots may take 7-14 days to fully heal and require a protective bandage or dressing. Deeper spots may take 3-4 weeks to heal and may require a suture and pressure dressing for the first 2 days. Daily sun protection is recommended to ensure optimal recovery post treatment.
Scars
There are many treatment options available for reducing the appearance of scars. While some treatments minimize the appearance of scars on the skin’s surface, The CryoShape Probe offers a revolutionary inside-out approach to scar therapy. Offering significant advancement to the body of scar revision remedies, The CryoShape Probe is the latest innovation for the treatment of keloid scars and hypertrophic scars. Safe for all skin types, The CryoShape Probe is transforming the way we treat moderate to severe scarring. Cutis is privileged to be the first certified provider of The CryoShape Probe in Canada.
-
The CryoShape Probe treatment lasts between 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the size of the treatment area. Numbing anesthetic is utilized to reduce patient discomfort. Several keloid scars can be treated during a single appointment and most often only one treatment is required.
Derived from cryotherapy methods, the use of lower temperatures in medical therapy, The CryoShape Probe freezes and destroys scars from the inside-out (think wart removal). Healthy tissue is generated during the healing process, replacing the dead scar tissue. Over 97% of patients report permanent scar removal.
-
Mild to moderate discomfort, tenderness and itching are experienced post-treatment with rapid reduction over the first few days. No sutures are applied so wound care is superficial (think sunburn). Effective pain management will be discussed and prescribed prior to treatment. Patients may return to daily activities immediately following treatment.
