Chemical Peels - Cutis Medical Facials
Benefits include improved skin texture, radiance, refinement of pores, sun damage repair, minimized fine lines, and promotion of collagen synthesis. Mild to moderate sensations of tingling, prickling, and stinging are normal and vary from mild to moderate depending on the peel’s formulation and concentration. After the peel is applied and thoroughly neutralized, soothing skincare and sun protection are applied to the skin.
-
A professional preparation process includes deep cleaning. The chemical peel is carefully applied and removes layers of dead and damaged skin cells to reveal fresh, smooth skin. This process activates cell renewal, stimulating collagen production for improved skin texture. Skin can look instantly brightened and soft. Chemical peels are recommended to help balance irregular pigmentation, manage acne and blemishes and to combat signs of aging and sun damage.
-
30-60 min.
-
Typically 4-6 treatments, 1-6 weeks apart.
-
2-7 days. Mild peels result in very mild redness, cellular swelling and sloughing which can last up to 48 hours. A moderate depth peel can result in marked redness and peeling for five to seven days. During the recovery process, the skin may feel dry and appear flaky from activated cell renewal.
A professional quality mineral make-up is suggested to conceal any lingering redness and inflammation from the treatment and may be applied immediately after your session.
Cryotherapy
For the treatment of and solar keratoses, Cryotherapy or cryosurgery involves the freezing off of irregular skin lesions with liquid nitrogen. Treatments target unwanted skin tissue at a cellular level and promote the body to shed or slough away the lesion.
-
A canistered medical instrument (Cryac unit) is used to apply liquid nitrogen to the treatment area. The freezing occurs in a matter of seconds. Some discomfort is experienced with cryotherapy or cryosurgery procedures however, anesthetic is not generally required.

2 weeks. Some redness, swelling and blister formation can be expected. A dressing may be applied if needed to the treated area and the skin can be gently washed daily while the wound heals. A scab will form after 5-10 days and flake off on its own. Full recovery can take 2 weeks for treatments done on the face and longer for the legs. Daily sun protection is recommended to ensure optimal recovery post treatment.
Laser Resurfacing
To renew and refresh the skin, erasing traces of sun damage, acne scars, and general aging from the skin. Cutis Cosmetic & Laser Centre specializes in fractional laser resurfacing with the Fraxel® re:pair, Profractional laser and TRL, HALO and Moxi technologies for the safe and effective treatment of brown spots, skin texture, fine lines and wrinkles, enlarged pores, and acne scarring.
-
Fractionated resurfacing lasers use a concentrated, powerful beam of laser energy to target damaged skin tissues. The depth of resurfacing depends on the type of laser which is employed as well as the treatment parameters that are chosen. Fraxel® re:pair is a carbon dioxide laser technology which powerfully heats through the skin’s surface creating microscopic open cones with untreated surrounding tissues for rapid healing.
TRL is a laser technology that provides full field ablation to targeted areas for advanced skin resurfacing for scars and rejuvenation.
In some cases a topical or inhaled anesthetic, tumescent anesthetic, or expert nerve blocks may be utilized to maximize comfort. It is essential to avoid prolonged sun exposure before, during, and after laser treatments and to commit to consistent use of sun protection to preserve and enhance the results of your Fraxel® laser sessions.
-
Each treatment is approximately 60 minutes.
-
A series of treatments may be recommended for optimal results. Ongoing treatment is not necessary after the initial recommended treatment series is complete, but maintenance treatments can be done once a year.
-
Ablative Fraxel® re:pair and TRL laser resurfacing involves 10-14 days of redness and swelling and careful post care protocols for soaking and cleansing. The other resurfacing lasers (Moxi, Halo, ProFractional) vary from no to low down time (up to a week).
Nano Laser Peel™
For results beyond those provided by chemical peels and microdermabrasion, the NanoLaserPeel™ is the ideal introduction to next-level professional treatments.
-
Using laser energy to smooth and illuminate the complexion. This specialized technology removes the surface layer of the skin by activating messenger proteins. Initiating the skin’s natural renewal process, this treatment reveals a more youthful and radiant complexion without the need for invasive measures.
-
20 minutes.
-
This fast and comfortable treatment stimulates natural skin radiance with little to no downtime. It is an ideal treatment for anyone seeking an instant glow without disruption to their routine.
CUTIS ULTIMATE RESURFACING EXPERIENCE (CURE)
Helium Plasma Resurfacing
To resurface severe signs of aging. A one-time treatment that offers better results than phenol peels or CO2 laser resurfacing.
-
Done under local anaesthetic and inhaled analgesia. A general anaesthetic is not needed.
-
Healing and down time is approximately 2 weeks. For swelling and bruising, ice packs and head elevation are needed for the healing process. Redness of the skin may persist for a few months, but may be covered by mineral makeup.
SkinTyte II™
Collagen production is in abundance in our youth. These fibers keep the skin smooth and tight. As the skin ages, collagen production slows down and environmental and internal oxidative stress leads to the breakdown of these fibers which contributes to the formation of wrinkles, hollows, and sagging skin. Fortunately, SkinTyte II™ infrared energy to deeply heat soft tissue while protecting the entire treated area with sapphire contact cooling. This process regenerates these supportive tissues, delaying the need for surgery.
-
Delivers infrared heat energy deep into the skin, remodelling the existing connective tissue and stimulating new collagen production. The upper layers of the skin remain intact while this renewal process is initiated.
-
Each treatment is 30 minutes.
-
A series of 5-6 treatments is recommended once monthly for best results.
-
There is no recovery time required from a SkinTight II™ procedure. Some mild redness and swelling may result which will subside within 24 hours of the treatment.
-
Over a period of weeks and months following the treatment, the skin appears smoother and presents fewer lines and wrinkles; the newly synthesized collagen reveals a more youthful and lifted appearance.
